Movie Monday: Atomic Blonde... I think I liked it?

So this is another movie that has some problems... but my boyfriend has been telling me to watch it with him for years because it is bad and I finally watched it with him... and it had problems but I didn't hate it.  So this movie is also set in the 80s... so there's a theme here with my last movie being Wonder Woman 1984... and it was actually on the day the Berlin Wall was taken down.  And the ending is kind of a twist... but there are actually a lot of clues to it throughout the movie... There was one time I said to my boyfriend "I keep thinking Charlize Theron's character's accent is bad... but she's from South Africa so she did have a british accent at some point." So... yeah!  And a lot of the events in the movie... I don't understand what exactly anyone was trying to accomplish. One character gets killed... but at that point I was like "Was that really necessary?" I kind of forget what happens but... some of the characters motivations

Top 10 Dating Tips/ Suggestions

So I've been in a relationship for about 2 and a half years... but before that I was single... for a very long time. And I was on dating apps for about a year or so before that... so here's what I learned from those apps. If you want more specific relationship advice I have from being in a relationship... that one might be a little harder but I guess I could do a blog on that too? Idk... I'm not an expert but I think I have some good tips.  Find an App That Works For You  I feel like not all apps work for everyone. I started on Bumble- and I like the app. I love the idea of girls taking the first move- but... I HATE making the first move apparently. So I would just match with a bunch of guys... and never really knew what to talk about. Plus I like having A LOT of info in my bio and Bumble just doesn't give enough space for me. I only went out with 1 guy from Bumble I think and it was bad.  So after that I tried Coffee Meets Bagel... which is terrible. Maybe depending on

Throwback Thursday: My First Valentine's Day With My Boyfriend

Alright so... my boyfriend and I have always had a fun Valentine's Day. We don't always like to celebrate big on the actual day because our half-anniversary is on the 16th. So the first year we were together we didn't think we'd be able to celebrate on Valentine's Day... so we were going to celebrate on the 16th... and last year I closed on Valentine's Day- so we couldn't really do anything until the 16th. This year I'm not really sure what we're doing but... idk. I'd be happy doing something any day. The half year marker... idk I still kind of like celebrating it even though we've been together a while... so I like that Valentine's Day falls around that time.  Anyway... so I don't want to tell the whole story of the first year... but I'll tell the funny bits of info that I think you'll laugh at.  So... he was supposed to have jury duty... but they ended up not needing him... so that all in its own is kind of funny that our f

Valentine's Day It List: Favorite Things for the holiday!!!

Alright so I thought I'd talk about a few of my favorite Valentine's Dat types of things! So... here we go!  1) Russel Stover Strawberry Hearts-  These are pretty much available for every holiday in some way or another... but the Valentine's Day ones are my favorite! These just taste really good and they're really great. My parents always get me this... I like them a lot!  2) Reading a Rom Com Book-  I like reading a cute book for the Valentine's Day... it just seems really fun and cozy. Last year this time I read a book called The Plus One by Sarah Archer- and that was a really good book and Sarah Archer- really nice lady! She followed me back on Instagram and we like each other's dog pictures! I think it's being turned into a series too and I'm EXCITED about that.  Honestly they usually have a bunch of cute romance books out at Book Stored for Valentine's Day... judge it by the cover and read the back and see if it's interesting. That's ho

Target Tuesday: Favorite Target Snacks

Ahhh yes. Time for me to express my love for Dot's Homestyle Pretzels!  I always find myself finding some sort of gem at Target to snack on. This one my sister actually found... the Dot's Homestyle Pretzels. I'm not even that much of a pretzel fan... but the seasoning on these is just so good and it's got kind of a kick to it... they are much different than regular pretzels. I just tried the Southwest version as well... those are a little bit spicier and they taste kind of like Queso Dip... I highly recommend these to eat on your own or for a party. Maybe for the football game coming up (are blogs allowed to say the real name? I know there are lots of legal issues.... but I'm not calling it The Big Game.) These are definitely a must try. They also have cheese curls... I haven't tried these and I don't think I've seen them at my Target... but I would definitely give them a try too!  I also love during the holiday seasons when they have their indulgent tr

Movie Monday: Wonder Woman 1984... It Has Some Problems...

Okay so... this movie has problems... And the weird thing is... I still really liked it... but there's SOOOOO much wrong with it that... I don't even know where to begin.  Now the movie opens with a flashback of Diana as a little girl with an accent that slips in and out and it shows her trying to cheat to win a competition by cheating and the negative effects of cheating.  Then the movie opens with another opening scene of Diana in the present which is 1984. She's at a mall in her wonder woman costume saving people and doing Wonder Woman things. This scene is unrelated to just about anything that happens in the events of the movie... but enjoy it because it is the one time in the whole movie that you'll be able to see Wonder Woman doing Wonder Woman things... Literally... it's just... ugh. If this wasn't a Wonder Woman movie it would still have problems but maybe it would have been less disappointing.  Before I mention the thing with Chris Pine returning... I

January 2021 It List

  1) Crosley Record Player- I really like this! I haven't used it a whole lot- but I feel like record collecting is a fun new hobby for me and I really like going to Jack's Music Store in Red Bank so... I feel like this is an exciting way to enjoy that a little more. I know I just posted about my record collection yesterday but.. I will likely be doing more music posts on this.  2) Wandavision- I can't get enough of this show! I've watched the first 2 episodes 3 times now and the last episode twice... and I watch just about every breakdown and theory video I can find about it. I... really like Wanda and I think this is a cool show. It's also just like you're watching an old classic tv show- but with the Marvel twist and you can see the hidden darkness behind this world that Wanda and Vision are trapped in.  3) Dot's Homestyle Pretzel Southwest- So I love the original Dot's Homestyle Pretzels... but these are also just really good. It tastes like Queso di

My Record Collection! Crosley Record Player

So I told you guys yesterday I got a Crosley Record Player and I've been buying kind of a lot of records since then... and yesterday I actually finally got to go to my favorite local record/music store Jack's Music Shop in Red Bank... I wish I had spent a little more time there because they have EVERYTHING there but... anyway that was fun... so I guess I'll talk about those records first and then go to the others.  So I got a Diana Ross Record. This was in the discount record bin- so it was $4 or $5 I think. My mom is a big fan of Diana Ross and I just thought she looked really pretty on the album cover. I forget what the name of this one is... but it has the song Love Hangover on it so yeah! That's exciting.  I also got the Kesha album Rainbow... which is one of my favorites. This is one I for sure wanted right when I got the record player... so I'm excited for that.  And I got the Harry Styles album Fine Line... I love this album so I'm excited to have it on

Target Tuesday: Target Room Refresh

Okay so this is an exciting post that I've been kind of wanting to do for a while... it's a room refresh and since a lot of the things I got are from target... I figured I'd do it for Target Tuesday. I'll show some other things too... but I won't share where its from if it's from the chain of stores I work at... just to keep it private I guess.  Threshhold Bins  This is basically what inspired the whole project... I wanted to clear off one of my bookshelves from the dvds that were on it... and I wanted to add bins so that I could put the clothes I'm wearing for the next day in one of the bins.  And I didn't exactly know what types of bins I wanted... but when I saw these $10 bins from Threshhold at my target store I knew these were perfect!!! So I got 3 of them because there were 3 bins available and I really only needed 3. I have this other drawer organizer storage that I also got from Target years ago that I knew fit in these bookshelf cubbies... so I

Movie Monday: Wonder Woman

Alright so... I've watched a few movies recently... I wanted to get a review of Wonder Woman 1984 up before it was off of HBO Maxx... but that's not going to happen. So yeah. Mini review of Wonder Woman 1984 before the big one next week... It was bad. But also enjoyable. But bad. But I'd watch it again and recommend checking it out... but there are some problems we'll talk about next week.  Anyway Wonder Woman was actually pretty good! It's a nice origin story for Wonder Woman... I think Gal Gadot was perfect as Wonder Woman. Her and Chris Pine had good chemistry throughout the movie. She was also pregnant while filming some of this movie I believe which is... kind of awesome. It was overall a good introduction for Wonder Woman.  Okay... I watched this a while ago so I'm trying to remember what I liked and didn't like about it. The intro was pretty cool- we see Wonder Woman as a little girl and then we see her going into the real world and it is a little bi

Barnes and Noble Mostly Stuff on Sale Haul

Alright... I got a random selection of things at some Barnes and Noble stores... most things were on sale and on the clearance table... but some were more expensive than I thought they would be... but... yeah. These were maybe necessary purchases. Kind of sort of.  First off I got a Funko Pop! The Barnes and Noble Exclusive Glow in the Dark 22 from Disney and Pixar's Soul... I loved this movie and I hold out on the Funko Pops till I see the movie... which unfortunately means I might have missed out on some of the figures cause I haven't seen Joe Garnder, the cat or the Soul versions of those figures anywhere... but... at least I got this one! These are very pretty pops!  Next up I got a Water Bottle. This one is a Sip by S'well bottle and this one has Elsa from Frozen all over it. I like Frozen and I like S'well bottles... so seeing this for 40% off seemed like a good idea to get.  Next up I got some pens that were 50% off... but they were originally kind of a lot of m

Target Tuesday: Useful Things I've bought at Target

Alright so I kind of want to do a Target Haul... but honestly... I bought too much stuff at Target recently... I need to stop. But I did kind of need it because I'm redoing things in my room and Target had some stuff I needed. So yeah.  Okay first of all- I bought 3 of these things but the brand Threshhold has these soft storage bins that are $10. The website says these are 13 inches and they fit perfectly on my Ikea Bookshelf. I'm not exactly sure what the exact name of the bookshelf is- but it has 4 little cubbies and I have a bigger bookshelf that I use also and... I just wanted to do something else with this bookshelf. So... pretty much every day I lay out the clothes I'm going to wear for work the night before that way I can save a little time when I get ready in the morning...but I don't really want it on the seat of my desk because I like it to be cleared... so I thought Empty out that bookshelf and use it more as cubbies... so I have one of these bins that are

Uhhhh... Where Have I been?

So it hasn't been that long- but I did mention that I wanted to keep this more of a daily-ish blog than I have in years past... and my last post was the  4th and today was the 11th. Did I give up on my resolutions already?  No/Sort of... sooo basically I was kind of considering the real start of the new year January 5th... I was very busy with work things up until the 4th... the 4th was the big work event that I had to do... and then after that I could focus on whatever I wanted to focus on... and my blogs were going to be the number 1 thing that I focused on for sure... I might miss a few days... but surely I'd do something for this blog right on the 5th after the big work thing was done... so just leading up to that as long as I post something- everything is good right?  Nope- I realized my room design... needed some refreshing. And then one project turned into several projects and then that took a few days... I think I started on doing stuff on Wednesday of last week and I

Movie Monday: The Best Movies of 2020

This is kind of funny because it's going to be a short list since... there were really no movies in 2021... anyway here's what I'm going to be talking about!  Harley Quinn Birds of Prey  Invisible Man  Sonic The Hedgehog  Onward  Lovebirds The Christmas Chronicles 2  Soul  Happiest Season  I think that's everything new I saw this year... so I'm going to start with the worst and go to the best!  8) The Christmas Chronicles 2 So this was the sequel to one of my favorite Christmas Movies... it's available for streaming on Netflix and that's how I saw it... I just thought it was weird and disappointing. I liked seeing The North Pole a lot... I thought the new stepbrother was really cute... but overall... Not my favorite movie. I'd watch it again but it was meh. Not my favorite at all.  7) Harley Quinn Birds of Prey  Okay so... I liked this movie... but it definitely could only be number 6 on the list if there are only 7 movies out... lol. I did actually buy

A Very Nerdy Haul

So... I got some nerdy things and I thought I'd share that today because... why not?  Little Shop of Comics  So this is a fun little comic book shop that isn't too far from my boyfriend. Don't let the Little name fool you... they have more comics and graphic novels than a lot of bigger comic book shops.  So I got two of the funko pops from the movie Elf and they are Jovi and Poppa Elf. I thought they were cute and even though I don't have Buddy and I think they sold out of Buddy... but I'm still happy with the ones I got!  And I got a David Bowie Coloring Book and the David Bowie Graphic Novel both of these are by Michael Alfred... they look really cool! I kind of want to read the Graphic Novel and color the pages to match. It looks fun!  Record Store  I forget what the Record Store's name was- but I bought some for my boyfriend because I bought him a record player for christmas so he looked around he picked out The Great Muppet Caper soundtrack- which was funn

2020... Was this the worst year ever?

Alright guys... 2020 is over as of today... I'm writing this on December 29th- but I'm posting this on the first so yeah.  And I have to say as crappy as it was... this is the year I'll probably remember more than a lot of years. It's the year I'll talk about the most and... there are things that were totally unimportant that are things I wouldn't have been special any other year... but this year they're like highlights.  Early on in the year my boyfriend and I saw kind of a lot of movies... which is great- but it's something that we sort of always do... but NOW this is like all I can think about. We haven't seen a movie since Onward released in March... and I don't think we'll be going back any time soon. I just keep thinking like "wow- we saw Invisible Man, Harley Quinn, Sonic the Hedgehog, Onward... I feel like maybe we saw something else... but I keep thinking about it like "Wow! That was so cool. We just saw The Invisible Man
