Movie Monday: The Best Movies of 2020

This is kind of funny because it's going to be a short list since... there were really no movies in 2021... anyway here's what I'm going to be talking about!

Harley Quinn Birds of Prey

Invisible Man

Sonic The Hedgehog

Onward

Lovebirds

The Christmas Chronicles 2

Soul

Happiest Season

I think that's everything new I saw this year... so I'm going to start with the worst and go to the best!

8) The Christmas Chronicles 2

So this was the sequel to one of my favorite Christmas Movies... it's available for streaming on Netflix and that's how I saw it... I just thought it was weird and disappointing. I liked seeing The North Pole a lot... I thought the new stepbrother was really cute... but overall... Not my favorite movie. I'd watch it again but it was meh. Not my favorite at all.

7) Harley Quinn Birds of Prey

Okay so... I liked this movie... but it definitely could only be number 6 on the list if there are only 7 movies out... lol. I did actually buy the dvd too because I thought it was fun... but... it isn't great. Most people don't like it but... I like Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and I thought it was fun!

6) Lovebirds

This was a funny movie too. Actually a lot better than I was expecting. I don't think I would have seen this in theaters because the trailer looked kind of bad... but because it was on Netflix... I watched it and it was actually really funny. Kumail Nanjiani and Issa Rae were great together. It was a fun movie... but the plot was a little bit weird. The crime plot rather- not the breakup type of plot... it's not a bad movie... just a little something I probably wouldn't watch again that much.

5) Happiest Season-

I actually forgot about this one... and I added it into the list right after. This is a movie I didn't watch again this Christmas Year- but I would watch it again next year and for years to come. This was a cute Christmas Rom Com about a lesbian couple who goes home to meet her girlfriends parents... who don't know that the girlfriend is gay. And she meets up with her ex girlfriend. Its just a cute movie with a lot of heart. Some people say it's stressful... but it does have a happy ending.

4) Sonic The Hedgehog-

This was a really cute and fun movie. I'm happy with all of the changes they made to Sonic... and seeing it in theaters was really fun too. The audience I saw it with was really into it and everyone clapped after and gasped when they showed Tails at the end even though I think everyone knew he'd be in it. It was just really fun and this makes me miss seeing movies in theaters. It's a good one.

3) Invisible Man-

What. A . Movie. I saw this in an empty Dolby Theater RIGHT before everything shut down. It was awesome. I really like the Dolby theaters- I like them better than the Imax theaters... but the sound and the visuals of this movie were great in Dolby. So much suspense and some twists and turns. It's a good movie and it's on HBO Maxx and HBO now... so I'd recommend it.

2) Onward- Onward was a great Pixar Movie... a year where we get 2 Pixar Movies in one year is usually better than this year was... but Onward was great. Everything in the movie kind of paid off at the end of the movie- which I always really love. It's a good one.

1) Soul- My favorite movie of the year... maybe of the last few years is probably Soul. This is just such a sweet movie that's really funny too and... it didn't really feel like a kids movie. I still think kids might like it and I would have probably liked it as a kid. The music was great- there was nothing really predictable in the movie... I just overall liked it a lot.

Okay. That is everything movie related for 2020... I should do books too but I didn't read as many books as I thought I would... and it's harder for me to review them all together just because it takes long to read a book.

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
