Scribbles About Movies: Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 2 (spoilers)

I think one of the movies I was most excited to see in my journey to see as many Marvel Movies as I can was Guardians of The Galaxy Volume 2. I had seen the first one in theaters and I really wanted to see this one but just didn't have the time... so I was just looking for a fun... slightly lighter Marvel Movie... and I kind of got that but the end upset me.

So I feel like Yondu really shines in this movie and they were really building him up to be one of the Guardians of The Galaxy... and then Spoilers... They kill him. Which made me really sad because Yondu was so funny and I felt like he helped connect the characters. He raised Peter, so obviously he had some connection there... plus throughout the movie he had a kinship with Rocket... and that was kind of nice to see too. Plus he definitely had the coolest weapon of any movie... it was basically a laser arrow that did, in fact, make him look like a very cool Mary Poppins.

I thought this movie was even a little funnier than the first movie... for like half the movie I thought it was pretty much nonstop laughs... Drax is just so literal and bad with interactions of any kind. Rocket Racoon and Yondu were just really great. Of corse Groot was really adorable.

Fun fact: Rumor has it a class was assigned to do a Resume as any Marvel Character... someone chose Groot of corse.

I don't know if I felt as strongly about this soundtrack as I did about Volume 1's soundtrack... I did really like it. I love the song The Chain by Fleetwood Mac that they played during a dramatic scene... I like that Rocket and everyone else kind of needs the music now too... I thought that was a nice little detail.

The action scenes were all good too... and the characters are pretty deep and there are lots of connections and backstories... This movie was also a major part of setting up Infinity War- you could tell from their mentions of Thanos and Gamora and her sister's anger towards him... it was a good way to set it up from what I understand without having seen Infinity War... So I guess I'm not really sure but I think it's pretty good.

I feel like that is really everything that I want to say about this movie... I didn't think the plot itself was all that strong- but all the little details about the movie made it so great and I thought it all worked pretty well... so I liked the movie a lot as a whole... and I think if you're not super into comic book movies... Guardians of The Galaxy is pretty great. I would say it's on par with Star Wars, but a lot funnier.

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
