APPyness: New Harry Potter Interactive Game Review

So for a little over a week I would say I've been playing the new Harry Potter: A Hogwarts Mystery game. And I think it's pretty fun. It's a lot of just clicking and going to different places at different times... but I think it's pretty fun and it is a good way to feel like you are a part of the Wizarding World and you get to know the Professors pretty well. So far, I like Flitwick and Snape is really pretty scary.

I'm guessing the story is the same for everyone... but you do get to choose your house... I chose Ravenclaw. Basically your character has a brother that got expelled from Hogwarts and vanished suddenly... many students saying that he went insane... and one girl even bullies you because of it... and you are trying to figure out what exactly happened to your brother, what sort of secrets are hidden at Hogwarts... plus you need to defend yourself and your friends from this bully... all while learning your regular subjects... it's quite a lot for an 11 year old!

That's at least where I'm at so far. I'm nearly finished with my first year at this point... I figured out something that was in a mysterious corridor and I have finished most of the lessons for my classes... but I'm not really sure about everything. I've been surprised so far- but things have been going kind of slow. I'm not sure if that's just how I'm playing the game or if it's just not the fastest moving game ever.

I think my favorite part of it is that it does really feel immersive. Even though the character isn't me and I'm just holding a phone to play the game... it does kind of make me feel like I'm a part of the wizarding world and it really makes me feel like I know these professors and characters that I've grown to love through several books.

So overall I've been loving this app a lot... it's just super fun and if you love Harry Potter and if you grew up loving Harry Potter... this will be a fun little app for you to try. I think it's definitely my favorite game that I've played in a while!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
