Scribbles About Movies: Avengers Age of Ultron

So I'm trying to watch a few more of the Marvel movies because I want to see Avengers Infinity War... I just mentioned this in a post... but I started with Avengers: Age of Ultron. This isn't the first Marvel Movie I've ever seen... but it's the first in a long time. I have seen the original Avengers and Guardians of The Galaxy... and I think that's all! So yeah this was a good re-introduction to the MCU and I thought it was really fun to watch.

I only vaguely remember the first Avengers movie and the first Guardians of The Galaxy... so I didn't really know what I was getting into watching this. At the beginning I didn't really know who they were fighting or what was going on and that didn't really deter me from liking it. Seeing the action and the character interactions... it's just fun to watch. And I think its easy enough to just kind of pick up what's going on. It's like in the Star Wars movies... the first Star Wars Movie took place in the middle of the events that were going on- but that didn't really make it less exciting. It actually made it a little more exciting because they just threw you right into the action.

And that's the thing with this movie... it all happened very quickly... slightly unlike the first avengers. They needed to get everyone to assemble and then they all figured out how to beat Loki together... in this one- Tony Stark and Bruce Banner discuss Ultron and then suddenly Ultron comes to life and he is bad... and that's kind of it. It didn't have any unnecessary scenes - didn't overexplain anything... it just got right into the action.

And I thought Ultron was a really cool villain too. James Spader is a great actor and I think he was a great choice for the voice of Ultron. I just like that it was this computer that was meant to do well and it turned and became almost human and very evil... and he was brainwashing people... it was just kind of a really awesome villain and I think it was good for this one movie. I like that other characters are in other movies, like Loki, but I think it was best that Ultron was only in this one movie... I know that kind of spoils the end... but it's an older movie and I figure most people know Ultron isn't in the new movie... so that makes sense.

And Black Widow in this movie was pretty great. I think Black Widow is kind of a unique character because I feel like she has relationships with everyone in the Avengers. She has a thing going on with Bruce Banner and she recruited him and she's the only one that can control him. She was in the second Iron Man movie, so she knows Tony Stark well, and she's apparently close enough to Hawkeye that his kids call her "Aunt Nat." So that was really kind of cool to see. She doesn't have a movie of her own, but I thought it was cool to see all of these relationships with her.

Did I think they focused too much on the Black Widow/Bruce Banner relationship? Kind of. I didn't mind it though- it seemed really sweet and genuine... plus it did give us some more character development on the avengers that didn't really have movies about them. (I know The Hulk does, but he only had the one movie when everyone else had a few at this point!) And The Hulk is my favorite Avenger... so anything he does is cool.

That is everything! I hope you liked this review! I think I'm going to watch Civil War and review that for tomorrow!

Byeee!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
