Scribbles About TV: UnREAL

So, I don't watch Lifetime very often... so I didn't even hear about this show or what it was about or anything. But I saw on Entertainment Weekly, or Vulture or TVLine or something saying that there was a new drama about a dating reality show. This is a concept that always intrigues me. I've also started watching The Bachelorette recently... and I know a little bit about the Scripted Television industry... and I know Reality Shows are just as scripted as everything else. I can kind of tell there's a lot of drama behind the scenes to create this drama... so this all makes sense to me. I was kind of on board when I saw Constance Zimmer on it. She's super talented and doesn't really tend to stay on shows that last a long time... but she can do funny, she can do mean... she can be serious... she is really talented and I think this role is the role for her because she is kind of the villain and the comic relief of the show. The show is pretty dark, so it needs som...

One Word

So there's this website called oneword.com that gives you a word and 60 seconds to write something, every day. Its interesting. I like it. Here are some I came up with. Polo They were playing polo when he realized that he didn't belong here. It was his parents country club, he didn't want to be a member. He didn't care about polo or anything else in the club. He felt so out of place, he threw himself off the horse. Soar Its my first time flying. Ever since I hatched from an egg, I've wanted to spread my wings and soar like all my brothers and sisters. I'm really scared I won't be able to do it... but Im also super excited because this is my life's calling. 4... 3...2...1... GO! Catwalk I walk the catwalk. I'm more nervous than ever. What if I fall? What if people boo me and call me ugly? What if I ruin this expensive dress or shoes? I don't know if this modeling thing is right for me. I'm not cut out for this walking thing. I shou...

This Week in Geek: Nerdy News

So last week I did This Week in Sexism as a different spin on my Scribbles about news... this week I'm gonna go with some nerdier items of the news. These aren't all news stories... some of them are just thoughts I have based on some things... but its all nerd related things that are relevant right now... so yeah. 1) Aquarius and X Files- I know Aquarius debuts this week... and I'm excited. Love me some David Duchovney, love a good murder mystery... and Charles Manson.... seems like a good recipe for a tv series right! But Idk... I don't totally want it to just be a mini series... I kind of want David Duchovney to continue being a detective on a murder mystery show... it seems good to me! Now I may post my review on Aquarius before this... so it could be really bad... but I think I'd rather have more Aquarius instead of more X Files... Also... I'm just confused as to why they're bringing it back to tv... mostly because they already did a second movie...w...

Things I do

So I thought I'd kind of do somethin a little different today and post some random things that I do and that I have been doing recently... things that I want to share. Lol. This could literally mean anything... so yeah. 1) I keep people grounded- Everyone thinks they are awesome... Everyone thinks they are the best that is just a fact of life... no one is really all that good. I have come up with the catchphrase "Take Yourself Down A Peg" because really people do. Case in point... Men are super confident... too confident. I have a friend that dated a guy that... well they had a big problem in their relationship. Its something pretty unforgivable. And it was 100% his fault. So... yeah. That was a thing. And somehow... he ends up calling her recently and asking her to see a play with him... Yeah. Take yourself down a peg cause there is no universe in which you are not a total scumbag. Take yourself down a peg... look at the real picture. If you and a girl didn't wor...

Coming This Summer: Things I'm excited for Summer 2015

So there is a lot to be excited about this summer. Here are some movies, tv shows, a couple books and... mostly movies that I'm really excited about seeing/reading this summer. Books  I don't really know all that many books that are coming out this summer... there was one I read about on Entertainment Weekly with a cupcake that looked like a grenade, and there was another mystery that sounded really good... Surprisingly no Bios for summer release... but there are definitely a couple books I'm looking forward too. The newest Princess Diaries book is being released! I'm so happy about it! Its about Mia getting married to Michael Moscovitz... and I'm really pumped for it. I recently re-read all of the Princess Diaries series in preparation for this and... I'm excited. Its going to be really good! I know it! Its long awaited... and it sounds like there are more twists and things than any other book... and there are always a few twists, even for a teen fiction....

Scribbles About (Ear) Movies: Balls Out (Blacklist Table Reads)

So I've mentioned this podcast before on my It List... and I think I'm actually going to start doing a review on each individual movie that this podcast does. So this podcast is called Blacklist Table Reads and what it is is just a group of actors reading a script that is really good, but has not been made into a movie yet. Making movies is a long, difficult process and just because something doesn't get made doesn't mean it isn't good... just like if a movie does get made it doesn't mean it is good. Lol. Hope that makes some sense. This is a great podcast if you love movies because basically each month you get to hear a free movie! Its kind of fun to picture the settings and the characters yourself and I just really enjoy it. I also like it because you get to listen to movies you wouldn't necessarily choose for yourself. This movie Balls Out is definitely a movie I would go see in theaters, but the 2nd movie they have on is called The Other Side, and th...

This Week in Sexism: Rebel Wilson and Maggie Gyllenhall's Age + The Bachelorette

So... I was going to do a Scribbles About News, and then I was going to do a feminist rant... but because all the news is so sexist... I thought lets combine them! And here is my 80 cents on the topics at hand... I'm going to start out with Rebel Wilson because thats kind of a big thing for the week. So Rebel Wilson has been under fire this week saying that she really is not 26 and her name is not Rebel Wilson at all. Is this a big deal? I don't really care if Rebel Wilson is 26, 35, or 100... she's still funny as hell and can actually sing. She responded to this on twitter saying that she is really a 100 year old Merman and that her real name is Fat Patricia. She's super funny for a 35 year old! Lol. Of corse women can be funny at any age ever. And it shouldn't matter what her age is... it should be focused on her talent, not age, looks, weight or anything of the like. Rebel Wilson is beautiful and even if she looks 35, she still looks 26 to me. She looks like ...
