Movie Monday: Bruce Almighty- Cute Movie... but it doesn't work as well today.

Soo... yeah. I saw Bruce Almighty was on Comedy Central and nothing else was on so I watched it... and overall it's a fun movie... but it's weird.

I feel like now that I'm grown up... if I were Grace (Jennifer Aniston's character) I wouldn't forgive Bruce at the end of the movie. He's kind of a terrible boyfriend and I feel like he learns his lesson... but does he really?

Bruce is a news anchor and at the beginning of the movie he's upset about not getting the lead anchor position... and he's stuck doing small hometown stories, like The World's Largest Cookie... and they often cut his segments or shelf them... so it's not really working out for him. He kind of freaks out on the air when he finds out his rival got the position... then he goes home to his girlfriend Grace who's trying to comfort him and he just kind of yells at her and acts really selfishly... he also goes on to kiss another woman once his ego gets really big from being god... it's just weird. Obviously Jennifer Aniston could do better and... she ends up forgiving Bruce and taking him back when... he's kind of been ignoring her up until he leaves and... he's just not good... so I don't think I would have taken him back if I had been Jennifer Aniston.

That being said- the movie is still really funny and Morgan Freeman playing God is obviously very iconic. And all the jokes are really funny. I'm not very religious, but I did go to Catholic School so the religious stuff in the movie is sort of funny and tongue in cheek without being too religious or offensive I guess. It's just kind of silly and you don't see a lot of these types of movies anymore. It's kind of fun to see. Even though it didn't quite live up to my hype of always kind of liking the movie.

The scene I feel like I was most disappointed in was when Bruce messes with Evan when he's live on the air... I remember it being really really funny... but now when I'm watching it I'm just wondering how Bruce making Evan say all that stuff isn't affecting his free will... it's weird.

Anyway... there's my review. I'd probably watch the movie again if it was on tv because it was still funny... but it isn't quite the classic I thought it was going to be.

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...
