My Sort of Review of The Bachelor and The Bachelor Winter Games

Alright... so I'm not really a fan of the Bachelor franchise. I did watch Trista's season of The Bachelorette... which was the first one ever- I know CRAZY... and since then I'm sort of a casual fan of the show... slowly liking it better and better... so I just thought I'd do a little recap and review of things I like about it... and what gets me hooked. I think one thing that I really like about the show is the travel aspect of it... It's changed so much that now it's like they travel somewhere new all the time and you get to see the romantic aspects of the different areas that they travel too. It's kind of fun to see what they're doing... and I thought that was especially cool this episode. I've never been to Peru... but it looked really beautiful from what they showed of it... and I don't know. It was super pretty! I also go in knowing that these things aren't really real. It's staged and scripted to make it as entertaining as poss

I Finished The Emoji Movie... and it wasn't that bad!

So last we left off on my endeavor to watch The Emoji Movie... I said I couldn't do it after about 30 minutes I just kind of shut down... I wasn't even all that tired... I just kind of shut down- couldn't take any more, forgot I had watched it and then the entire movie came flooding back at me. Well after that... I tried explaining this experience to my friends. I even told them some of the weirder parts of the movie like the fact that the Eggplant Emoji was in it... it almost became an obsession... I was the only person who had seen this movie and I could dictate it to my friends. It was amazing. Then I watched the second half... and I was going in thinking "This is going to be terrible." I knew that most of the second half of the movie was a commercial. And the fact that they could make a horrible, horrible movie just to do a few commercials for apps just seems like a bad idea. But then I watched the second half of the movie... and I thought it was fun. Ma

DeBunked-ish: Jim Cheats on Pam At The End Of The Office

Alright- so I was watching The Office today... it was the last few episodes of the series- they had a marathon on Comedy Central which I think they have every Sunday... which is awesome... but anyway this was my first time watching the episodes since hearing the theory that Jim Halpert cheated on his wife Pamela Halpert and that the documentary crew helped him cover it up. While I did think this theory was very interesting when I first read it and I actually really believed it... after watching the episodes in question today... I just don't think it's true... so before I get into why I'm "Debunking" it... I'm going to start out with why I believed it. WHY I BELIEVED THIS THEORY:  1. Jim is a likable guy- Jim is the type of guy that can be friends with anyone- so it's really not hard to believe that he would make friends with the documentary crew members so that he could manipulate them into covering up the affair. 2. Jim and Pam Were Away From Each

Scribbles About TV: Black Mirror S4 EP5 Metalhead

Allllright so the review I just watched described this episode as one of the weakest episodes of the season... but I think it might have been one of my favorites! This episode doesn't really explain what is going on... you're just kind of thrown into this world and you get everything you need to know from that situation. So these 3 people are in a post apocalyptic world looking in an abandoned warehouse for something... and then they discover this robot-gun thing that we later hear referred to as a "Dog." It kills 2 of the 3 people in this group and then we're just left following this one woman as she tries to escape the dog. These dogs are kind of just like guns with 4 legs that are looking to destroy all the humans... in the recap video I watched... which by the way I've never mentioned but I watch the  gamespot universe recap videos  on youtube after I watch the episodes... these are just good. Anyway in this video they inferred that these were a securi

Scribbles About TV: Black Mirror S4Ep4 Hang The DJ

Alllright! Hope everyone's having a nice weekend and you're ready for a nice Black Mirror Review of a nice episode... not to dark... actually a pretty cute ending!  So this episode seems to take place in a parallel universe... not much is explained- but the whole world seems to only focus around dating. No one really has a job or hobbies or friends or anything... its just this device that arranges people to find their "Ultimate match." Each date starts out at a restaurant... where the food is already ordered for you and the date is already picked out... and then whatever else you decide to do or not to do is kind of up to you... but it is designed to find your ultimate match so you can live happily ever after or whatnot. It always claims to be "99.8% effective."  So the device is referred to as "Coach" and it has an expiration date with each couple and you're supposed to check it together to see how long you'll be together... It coul

Watching The First 30-ish Minutes of The Emoji Movie

So... I decided to watch The Emoji Movie the other day... and it's an experience so far... I don't think that I can actually watch the full thing... so this may end up being a series on this blog where I do 3 or so installments. Now I thought "this movie will surely get better" but now that I've had a bit of time to reflect on this first installment of the movie... I realized it probably does not. The last moment I watched was when they very first meet Jailbreak... and just from the brief appearance I saw of hers... I thought she was a great character... again I've only seen a few seconds of her... but she brought an energy that I wasn't getting from High 5... And let's talk about the High 5 Emoji... because as far as characters in movies go... High 5 is probably the least likable and my least favorite... it's bad. I didn't think there was anything that would make me dislike James Corden... but this High 5 Emoji is pretty terrible. And if

Scribbles About TV: Black Mirror S4 EP 3 Crocodile

Okay... so this is the episode I had heard about being very dark and scary... and I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the right headspace to watch it... but I just did not like the episode that much! So the episode starts out with a couple partying, they seem drunk... then the guy driving hits someone and instead of calling the cops- which the girl wanted to do at first... he dumps the body into the river and drives away. Years later- this woman, Mia, is married to someone else and she's a successful architect and public speaker... she has a family and she's moved on past this situation... or so we think. The man confronts her saying he'd like to go to the cops about it... and she ends up killing him. This happens at the same time as an accident that is being investigated by an insurance company... and the insurance company actually has a device that can see your memories to see how things happened... and they end up investigating Mia about what happened and they

Throwback Thursday: History of the Superbowl Lead Out Program

So I'm always interested in the superbowl lead out programs and what shows have actually played after the super bowl... I was going to list them all- but there are 52 of them... and I don't know all that much about the shows that were on before I was born... so I'm just going to 1991 since that is when I was born... and I'll do a couple little mentions of some important ones.  Here  is the Wikipedia page about it... so yeah. Before Shannon Was Born...  So the first superbowl in 1968- from the looks of it aired on both CBS and NBC. CBS showed Lassie and NBC showed Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color - which is interesting because it was before ABC was owned by Disney... so tha'ts pretty cool. All in The Family, The A Team and CHIPs were other shows that I recognized. The Nightly News and 60 Minutes were in a few... plus there was another Wonderful World of Color and a few more Lassie's. Shows That Had Pilot Episodes After The Superbowl...  The

Hump Day Update 2/7/18

What I'm Watching  At the moment I'm watching Inside Out... I'm about to watch 9-1-1 though because that's new tonight and they're doing a Valentines Day Episode. I saw a theory that The Good Place and Parks and Rec took place in the same universe... and so I'm watching both shows again and seeing what happens! I liked both of the pilots... but it's kind of funny how much each show changes from the start. And it's cool to re-watch The Good Place knowing what happens. I watched 2 episodes of Black Mirror and that was good... I'll probably be done with the series soon. I watched This Is Us and the Super Bowl obviously... both of those I've covered on this blog. I didn't watch yesterday's episode of This Is Us... and I'm still behind on The X Files. Trying to watch some more youtube... I have a HUGE watch Later playlist... I'm going to watch a bunch! News  Here  is an article about the first African American Woman to be

Scribbles About TV: This Is Us- After the Superbowl

So I did MANY recaps of This is Us last year... but this year I just kind of didn't watch it. It's a great show and everything... but they just kind of milked that story with Jack's death WAYYYYY too long and it just made me a little bit impatient and... we already 90% knew last year... I'm not sure why it was such a huge reveal... but it was still a good episode nonetheless. This was a really great "after the super bowl" show because anyone could really enjoy it. I haven't seen the show this season and I understood and enjoyed all of it... I think if it was your first time watching you could still enjoy it. If you're a fan and loyal viewer- obviously you would probably be satisfied with getting some answers as to what happened for Jack's Death. So I think that this was a really good episode for after the super bowl. And This is Us usually follows a few different substories... This one we had the flashback to Jack's Death... then we had how

Superbowl Scoop Superbowl 52! 2018! The Game, The Halftime Show, The Commercials, The Memes!

Alllright! Now for my favorite type of blog maybe? A big TV event happens and this is my scoop about it! And The Superbowl might just be the biggest event on TV... so I've got a lot to talk about. Now I'm not a big football fan... but I have to admit every time the Superbowl comes on... I actually enjoy watching it. The games are usually pretty exciting and this time especially I thought "huh, maybe I'll watch next year." It was a genuinely interesting game that made me want to watch more games! And I don't totally understand football... but basically Philly did really good in the first 2 quarters... and then in the 3rd and 4th the Patriots picked up a bit of momentum... the last few superbowls the Patriots have been in have been pretty big comeback games... so I wouldn't have been surprised if that happened again- but I was rooting for the Eagles... I root against New England teams typically as someone from New Jersey... so yeah. I also just don't

Scribbles About TV: Black Mirror S4E2 Arkangel

Alright... this was my first really dark episode of Black Mirror that I've seen so far... so I'm kind of weirdly excited about that. Everyone always talks about how dark Black Mirror is... and it totally is... but every episode I've seen thus far has had a pretty good ending... with Nosedive maybe being the exception. Anyway this episode revolves around a single mother named Marie who loses her daughter, Sara one day at the playground and is so scared of losing her again that she has a chip inserted in Sara's head so that Marie can keep track of her... this chip is called "Arkangel" and it was a free trial to see if this was something that could be ready for the US or not (I suppose?). The chip allows the mother to know where her daughter is at all times, it allows her to see what the daughter is seeing, and it even allows her to conceal any images or words that might be too graphic for the daughter. This is all done through an ipad-looking device I should m

February 2nd 1:45AM New Blogging Style, Late Night Thoughts, KFC Bowls, Cleaning and TV

Sooo happy Groundhog Day! Is there an all day marathon of the movie Groundhog day on some channel? There probably is and if there isn't this should be a thing and maybe I will actually watch it for the first time today. This is kind of a different blog for me... and I kind of want to introduce it but at the same time not introduce it... if that makes sense? It doesn't... so I'm going to kind of explain this anyway. So I was trying to think of ideas of actual books I want to write, movies I want to write... there's a short story I would love to make into a novel but now I'm thinking "Maybe I'm just too attached to this story and I need not to write it and just leave it as a short story... I don't know... it's something I wrote in creative writing in college... so I'm sure it isn't as good as I think it is... but it has potential and I need to do something more with that... or something more with writing in general... because mainly what I
