Lunch at Applebeess- It Was Good????

Today my boyfriend and I went to Applebee's for lunch. We aren't really the biggest fans of Applebee's- but we couldn't decide what we wanted for lunch and Applebee's seemed like a good option.

We weren't really expecting much- but I remembered liking the lunch combos they used to have and that seemed like a good idea for a light lunch. We wanted to get dinner out also... so we didn't want anything too big. I think the combos were 7.99, 9.99, and 10.99. The 7.99 ones were 2 classic dishes, 9.99 is a classic and a signature dish and 10.99 is 2 signature dishes.  I opted for one signature and one classic and my boyfriend got 2 signature dishes.

I chose the Chicken Tortilla Soup and the Chicken Tender Salad. The Chicken Tortilla soup was under 200 calories- which is pretty cool if you don't want to have a heavy calorie lunch... and the salad was like a cobb salad with some chicken tender pieces in there and a honey mustard dressing.  I almost didn't get the salad because the last time I got a salad from Applebee's it was the Oriental Chicken Salad and it's basically cole slaw with some chicken strips. Doesn't taste bad but... it's cole slaw! The Chicken Tender Salad was a real salad! It had lettuce, tomatoes and hard boiled egg slices. The tenders were nice and flavorful and the dressing was great too. I would definitely order this again and probably even order this as an entree on its own if I'm ever at Applebee's for dinner or something. Not sure if this is on the menu like that... but still. I'd get it if it is.

The chicken tortilla soup was also very flavorful too! The chicken was nice and it had a lot of chicken in it... which was good! It was really kind of spicy too. I'm pretty sure there was corn in it with tortilla strips too. It was good and flavorful and I'd get this again too.

My boyfriend got the Chicken Tender Mac and Cheese and the Potato soup. I didn't taste any of his cause I wasn't sure I'd like the Mac and Cheese and I didn't really want the Potato soup with the Tortilla soup... but they both looked really good. The Mac and Cheese was more like pasta in kind of a light looking cheese sauce... and the Potato Soup didn't look overly creamy. It looked really good- he ate the whole thing and really loved the Mac and Cheese. Overall this isn't super fancy or exciting... but we did really think it was a good lunch. It was just right and you can definitely order something that's not super unhealthy and it's still flavorful and really good.

That is it! I didn't take any pictures because I wasn't really expecting to do this review... but it was good and I'd get it again.

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
