Best Things of the 2010s

Okay... I was going to do a top 10 list of the decade... but I think I'm going to just kind of talk about some of my favorite things of the decade... but I think I'm just going to talk about some things.

If you were going to ask me what the BEST THING that the 2010s have given us- it's Hamilton. You guys... Hamilton... What a fantastic musical! I saw it in 2017 I believe... I had listened to the album just about a year before I saw it and it was still 1000% better than I expected. Totally exceeds all hype and definitely worth checking out!

Another big favorite that has spanned from 2010 and I'm sure my love for them will continue for years to come... THE MINIONS! They are just so cute and they always make me smile and laugh. I loved the first despicable me so much and whenever I was stressed in college I would watch different minion videos and mini movies. It's just really fun!

The favorite books of the decade for me are probably The Hunger Games, Gone Girl, Horns and an honorable mention to Marie Kondo. I think my favorite book ever is Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn... what an amazing twist! I still remember when I got to that point in the book- it was like late at night and then I got to that chapter and I was about to go to bed but then I had to read some more... and I just about finished it right then and I had dreams about it... I made all my friends buy it too... so yeah. I might have to reread it this year.

Horns by Joe Hill is a favorite that I read more towards the start of the decade- but it totally stands out when I think about what books I've loved. This was the first book I suggested to my boyfriend and he read it and loved it... it's just so good and the villain is really great and it's genuinely kind of mysterious and I just really liked it and he really liked it too!

The Hunger Games is something else I read in college and that's a great read... I read all 3 books pretty quickly. I had heard about Marie Kondo years before and I just started watching some of her Netflix show and I picked up 2 of her books. She's pretty amazing.

There was also a new adult Princess Diaries book out which I loved! I actually reread a lot of the books and finished the series this decade also so... this is an always favorite for me too. I loved it in the 2000s, I'll probably reread them again soon and... yeah I love them!

Next up I want to talk about some music! Fall Out Boy and Panic! At The Disco were 2 of my favorite bands in the 2000s and they made comebacks in the 2010s... and I still love them! I think Panic at The Disco had some great music particularly the last few years. Ed Sheeran and Lady Gaga were 2 concerts I've been to in the 2010s and they were both absolutely amazing. Lady Gaga for sure was a favorite in the 2000s and is still a favorite in the 2010s! Born This Way was probably my second favorite album after the Hamilton Soundtrack... Joanne was great too and A Star Is Born.

And Kesha's album Rainbow was a definite favorite of mine this year! My parents even love it... which is crazy! Also of corse... Lizzo has definitely been my favorite album this year!

The 10's also gave us some more Star Wars! The Force Awakens and that whole series and then we got some other movies and The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda and Galaxy's Edge at the Disney Parks! I love me some Star Wars so this was definitely a favorite for me!

We also got The Avengers, Deadpool,Bridesmaids and other great Girl Comedies, 21 Jump Street, we got the end of Harry Potter, Toy Story 3 and 4,Tangled, Frozen, and last but certainly not least... My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2! Jordan Peele's movies and Hereditary were great too.

And What We Do in The Shadows... the TV Show was definitely a favorite this year and I loved the movie too! Other great shows Modern Family, Netflix shows, Orange is The New Black, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Black Mirror, Bojack Horseman, Arrested Development is also a show... not a favorite this year- but it's a show. Breaking Bad is a show I also started watching this decade and it was amazing... probably my favorite show of the decade... and my other favorite is American Horror Story! Which even though I don't always love it- it's always fun to watch. Didn't finish this season yet... but it's okay!

And I hated AHS at first- so that is a surprise!

And I think that is everything! I'm sure there's something I missed... ohhh yeah Aggretsuko! The first thing my Boyfriend and I started talking about! Definite favorite!

And that is it! Hope you guys like it!
Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
