Book/ Notebook Haul! October 2019

Recently I've gotten a lot of books and notebooks... so I just thought I'd share what I've been getting... so yeah! Also I do go to Barnes and Noble often for my books- and I'll probably go there soon... but none of these books are actually from Barnes and Noble! These are just things I picked up that aren't really from Book Stores!

I'm going to start out with the notebooks because I did get some fun ones!

I found 2 of these at the store I work at and I 100% absolutely needed them! They are from the brand Wacct and they have some of my favorite people on them! The first one I found has David Bowie on it... if you guys don't know I'm a massive David Bowie fan- so of corse I needed that! The second one has the Fab 5 from Queer Eye on it... I have no idea what I'll write in the Bowie notebook- but the Queer Eye one I want to use more as a self-help type of notebook. A lot of the books on here are self help books!

I also got a Pusheen Planner! This was on sale at Hot Topic and it was adorable and I needed it!

The next ones I actually got 3 of the same notebook from AC Moore. All the notebooks were $10 and they were buy one get 2 free... so I got 2 for me and one for my boyfriend. I got a brown one and 2 black ones- They're just these handy little leather-looking notebooks with a pouch in the front and it even has a little holder for your pens and I love that! Super nice looking and I know he uses a pencil pouch all the time so I thought this could be useful for him. I actually wrote the rough draft for this blog in the brown one!
Now the book! There are 3 I bought from the store I work at and 2 I bought at Target. Only 1 of these books is fiction... so this is a little different for me and I'm branching out a little bit.

The first one that I saw at work and 100% needed is a cookbook called "The One With All The Recipes: An Unofficial Cookbook for fans of Friends" by Teresa Finney. I love Friends- it's something I kind of like to watch daily if I can and I saw Joey's Meatball Sub and was like "Okay... I'll buy this!" But the recipe I really wanted that I will probably most likely make the Moist Maker Turkey Sandwich. I think you need to make sure to write Ross's note to get the full recipe but... this is one of my favorite jokes on the show so I'm happy to have that!

Next up... I have the 2 books from Rachel Hollis- which are Girl, Stop Apologizing and Girl, Wash Your Face. I know a friend of mine read one of these books and I kind of wanted to read them and since I saw them at work I just picked them up. I had been a little hesitant on getting these for a while because I know that Rachel Hollis is a Christian and these books include a lot of Christianity... and I'm not really opposed to that, it's just not something I would pick up if it was just a book about Christianity... but I didn't think it was enough to totally stop me from wanting to read the books and I thought "well I'm glad she can include her faith in this. Why not?" So... I'm excited to read these books and I'll let you guys know my thoughts and what I've learned. I'm hoping it will at least remind me to wash my face... and honestly girls do tend to apologize a lot!

And the last two I got from Target... I'll start off with the Self Help type book called "The Joy of Missing Out" by Tonya Dalton. I've never heard of this book- but I read the title and I was like "What the hell? Isn't it Fear of Missing Out?" So... I immediately connected to this- so I'm really excited to read this one and see what it's all about. The Author of this is also the CEO of Inkwell Press Productivity Co... so that is interesting!

And the last book is The Bakeshop At Pumpkin and Spice by Donna Kauffman, Kate Angell, and Allyson Charles. This just seemed like a cute, cozy, autumnal love story that I can read after my spooky book challenge... which I might be failing- but I also think I can read the books quickly and they're kind of shorter books... so I'm excited for that.

Anyway- I hope you guys like this! I'm excited to read and cook these things- I'll let you know how everything is!

Bye!
-Shannon

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
