Isn't It Romantic Movie Review

So... I actually ended up seeing this movie 2 times in 2 days... and I kind of want to see it a third time too... plus I'll definitely buy the blu ray when it comes out because it's one of those fun movies I could watch over and over again. It was really good.

This movie is a very self aware Rom Com. Rebel Wilson's character Natalie is a lonely architect that isn't treated all that well at work and isn't really that confident in herself to get ahead. Her assistant is one of her best friends- but she spends the whole day watching Rom Coms at work- which just happens to be Natalie's least favorite type of movie! Natalie's other best friend Josh is completely in love with her- but Natalie has no idea. She's also pitching her ideas to a handsome new client named Blake at her firm (played by Liam Hemsworth). We actually don't learn much about his character other than from the movie within the movie... but he's kind of a jerk during their first meeting.

I know I kind of went into a lot of detail with that first part- but I think the movie went into a good job establishing the characters and their relationships in an interesting way without dragging it out before we got to the main part of the movie- where Natalie hits her head and wakes up in a Romantic Comedy... with ALL of the romantic comedy tropes she hates.

My favorite joke in the movie is when Natalie wakes up in the Rom-Com hospital for the first time and she looks glamorous and even though she has machines hooked up to her- she just removes it and there's no blood and no scarring or anything... which of corse ALWAYS happens in Rom Com hopsitals- but never in real life hospitals.

The rom com portion is also a hilarious and perfect parody that incorporates every rom com trope perfectly. There's the gay best friend who's only purpose is to be her best friend and encourage her, the insanely beautiful apartment and office, Priyanka Chopra who plays the beautiful romantic rival. Priyanka Chopra and Liam Hemsworth are also hilarious and perfect in this movie. They seemed like they had a lot of fun with the movie... and I thought that they were quite beguiling.

Overall- I really thought this movie was funny and great. Some parts I thought dragged on a little too long- but it was a super fun and super cute movie that I really loved. It was fun to see twice too because I noticed different things the second time... and it was just really fun.

Did you guys see the movie? What did you think? Let me know in the comments!

Bye!

Blogmas Day 12: The 12 Days of Christmas Gift Guide

So I thought it would be fun to do a gift guide that every gift corresponds with the price. So like for the first day of Christmas $1 gift that would be good and then up from there. These would be good stocking stutterers and things I just think are unique. $1- Solar Powered Dancers!  My mom loves getting the little dancing solar powered people. We get most of ours from Dollar tree... other dollar stores have them too, they're super cute and fun for $1. Its good to put near any plants that you have that way you know they're getting sunlight. It's a good gift. $2- Mini Coloring Book!  At 5 Below they had some mini travel sized coloring books for $2. I thought these were pretty cool. I got the Botanical one I believe. Really cute and fun! I would recommend! $3-   Ceramic Truck w/ Christmas Tree  I saw this at the Target Dollar Spot and I thought it was cute and would probably make a great gift. If you know someone who has a truck or likes the sort of "rustic C...

Scribbles About Food: Gloria Jeans Pistachio Chiller (kinda like a frap)

So since I'm doing all of the Frappuccino reviews, I thought I would give a shout out to a different coffee chain that I like... maybe even more than Starbucks! But I hardly ever go to it because A) People get your orders wrong there a lot B) I don't really live near one! So Gloria Jeans has some amazing drinks called Chillers that are like Frappuccinos, but they have always had a ton of really good and really interesting flavors. One of my favorite Seasonal ones is the Pistachio Chiller. They had this around this time last year also and its a really good unique flavor. Basically it tastes like pistachio ice cream... but in a frozen coffee form. Its pretty cool! And Pistachio is a pretty underrated flavor in my opinion. I don't get it enough, but I always love Pistachio and Almond flavored desserts and this in particular is really flavorful and just a really good chiller. I don't think there is anything at starbucks that compares to it really, its really different...

Scribbles about Books: Horns by Joe Hill

I picked this book up not too long ago because after seeing the trailer for the movie and seeing it was based on a book I thought "Hey, that looks good. I should read the book." Then my friend gave me a Barnes and Noble gift card for my birthday and I thought "Hey I wanted to read Horns, I should grab that." And I did, and I had to read it around halloween of corse! So this is my kind of horror story first of all. I love that the universe it takes place in is very realistic and very small-town. If you've noticed in some of my other book reviews... I like mysteries that take place in small towns. And its very believable because the world and the characters are all so real. I think its a good book just for that. The book starts out with this guy Ignatious, or Ig a year after his girlfriend Merrin is murdered. He grows horns from out of his head... for no real reason. And then a few chapters in we find out who really did it and then we find out why and that thi...
