Longhorn Steakhouse Review

I tried something new last night and I'm really excited to share it with everyone!

My Boyfriend and I had a giftcard to the Olive Garden Restaurant family... and we had already used most of it on Bahama Breeze- which was a really good, fun restaurant- and this time we decided to try Longhorn because I had never been there and we kinda wanted to try something new.

First off they bring you bread... which I always like in a restaurant. I feel like the bread was nothing really to write home about- but it was good and presented nicely on a little cutting board.

The appetizer however was great! We got the Cowboy Queso- which was basically a cheeseburger dip served with a really yummy garlic flatbread. We were kind of amazed at the fact that the dip really did taste just like a cheeseburger. I feel like I want that recipe! The flatbread was the best part. It was super soft and yet still kind of crispy and flavorful. The dip didn't really stay that warm... but the flatbread did- so that was really good on it's own.

The steaks were really great too! My boyfriend got the ribeye and he got it done Medium. He thought it was really juicy and pretty good. I got the flat iron steak because it was marinated- and I thought it might be a little more flavorful. It did have a really great flavor to it! it was small- but still filling and I just really liked it! I was pretty impressed as I am a little picky with my steak.

this was mine!

The sides we got were both kinda meh. The Mac and Cheese was okay... but it had parmesan cheese and that's not really something I like and my boyfriend could only taste the parmesan when I said I thought it had parmesan in it. So... it was a little overpowering. The fries were fine but nothing special.

We also got blackberry tea... it was fine- I was happy to see it on the menu- but it's not as great as if you ordered Chili's with extra blackberry syrup.

We didn't get any dessert- but the dessert did look delicious.  We had some Ice Cream at home that was homemade from my cousin... the ice cream maker from OWOWCOW creamery so we opted  for that... which I'm sure was better anyway... but I'd love to try dessert here sometime!

And the waiter... was weird. It was the end of the night- we were seated at a high top by the bar- so we didn't really have a wait and the food all came out pretty quickly and I don't think it was bad or anything... and we really didn't feel rushed out either.

Overall... it was a really nice date night! It was nice to try something new! We'd go back again!

Bye!

Weekly Wrap Up 7.30.17

Sunday 7.23.17  Sunday was a really good day… it was kind of a lazy day for me… but my dad pretty much finished most of the painting in my room… he ran out of paint before he could totally finish it up… so he’ll finish that up soon… my mom is going to the paint store tomorrow… so hopefully he can finish it up then.  He also made some really fantastic barbecue pork… it was going to be pulled pork… but the pulling process didn’t really work… I kind of prefer the texture of it sliced instead of pulled…. idk. I like pulled pork… but this sliced pork was really delicious and flavorful and good.  We went for Starbucks and Ice Cream too… which was fun. Starbucks sends a lot of bonus stars offers after 2… so even though we go in the morning- we have to go after 2 because then we’ll get bonus stars, which my dad uses in New York because it’s a little more expensive there.  And then the ice cream… nutella ice cream with crushed oreos and marshmallow…it was del...

Throwback Thursday: The Incredibles

This is one of the more underrated movies in the Pixar Universe... thatI think is actually getting more popular now than it was back when it was released... so that's good. I think it really stands the test of time... but it still isn't one of my favorites. This movie I think is pretty cool because it was the first time Pixar really used humans. When I was little I thought "Toys, Bugs, Monsters, Fish... the next movie will be about dogs!" And I was surprised it was this! I didn't know Pixar could do that! But I guess technically its about heroes and not humans... but then Pixar began to show more humans in their world and The Pixar Theory was started... and yeah. I just kind of want to state my opinion on the Pixar Theory here too cause why not: I don't believe that Pixar set out to create this elaborate world with all the movies connected... but I do still believe it exists in some way shape of form. It all adds up and checks out... so for me... somehow t...

Rereading My Favorite Thing I Wrote In College

Hey guys! I'd say "today's post is a little different" but they're all kind of different to begin with... so this might end up being the same- or at least something that can fit into this blog in a nice way. So I don't want to post the actual thing that I wrote... but in my college Creative Writing Class that I took at 21 we needed to write a fantastical realism short story. And I wrote something that I always liked. The lead character was a smart and sassy woman... the fantastical elements were exciting and unique... and the story as a whole had a cute ending and a good message... and I really liked the way that I took what happened in my real life and changed it into this amazing and fantastical thing. Re-reading it... it was still pretty good. I actually liked the ending a little bit better because it had a nice message about believing in yourself that I kind of just snuck in there without much thought... and there was a cute little love story. I liked ...
