Spoopy Sunday 9/15/19: Horror News+ My Spooky Halloween Reading List

I've got some more Spoop for the week... plus all the books I want to read around halloween time.I think I'll shoot for reading all or most of these by Thanksgiving... and I'll get to that at the end!

First some Funko News. We have some New Haunted Mansion pops that were released for the 50th anniversary! It's more than just the pops too, there are little vinyl figures like their mystery minis... but they aren't really mysteries. They even have loungefly products... just about anything haunted mansion you want- they have right now... and it's sometimes sold out like the 10 inch Ezra I probably should have grabbed... but it's all good! I will probably do a Funko Friday on those pops on my Disney Blog so check that out right here if you like Disney. Didn't write it yet... but I think it'll be coming soon. Lol.

The Movie Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark is also going to have some Funko Pops coming soon. There are only 2 in the line The Scarecrow and the monster from the last story... but they look really cool. I want to pick them up... but I have a feeling they'll go on sale cause I don't think the movie was all that popular... so maybe I'll get them. Idk if I'll keep them out all year though- These might be ones I save for halloween.

Halloween Horror Nights has also started in both Orlando's Universal Studios and Universal Studios Hollywood. Orlando's houses looked a little bit better from the videos I've seen... but both coasts seem very fun. Here's The Tim Tracker's Video if you want to see him going through all the houses in Orlando. Here's Justin Scarred's video on the Hollywood version. The Dis has a bunch of short videos on them going through each house... Here is a walk through video of the Ghostbuster's house just to get an idea... they have video of all the houses. In Orlando you aren't allowed to film, but the videos I have linked were there for a media preview. In Hollywood- they do let you film- so you might see more videos from there if you're looking.

So now for my reading list! I have some spookier halloween themed books that I'm going to try to finish... maybe by November-ish? Before I start to get into Christmas-mode... but I have a feeling I won't finish them all right away.

I'll start out with the longest one- which is It by Stephen King. My boyfriend read this around the time we first started dating and he loaned it to me right when he finished... and we've been dating for a year so I should read it lol. Plus the new movie just came out and I'm hoping I can see that before I read the book cause I don't think I'll get to it in time... but either way I'm excited.

I also have the Hocus Pocus book and all new sequel that I picked up the very first day it came out over a year ago... and I still haven't read! This is by A.W Jantha... and I'm excited about this. This might be the easiest one to get through... so I might read this first... but it would also be nice to read something lighter after being scared... so maybe I'll save this for after something else.

Next up is The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson. I know there are several differences between this and the Netflix show- but I think I'll like the Netflix Show better if I read this one first. Shirley Jackson is a fantastic author and she's actually one of my mom's favorite authors- so I am excited to read this one... Maybe I'll start with this one cause it's short and then I can watch the show.

I also have a shorter one that I want to read during Halloween... The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina Volume 1 The Crucible Comic Book. I got this a while ago and I still haven't watched season 2 of CHAOS so... I'm probably going to watch that soon too. The author of this one is Roberto Aguirre Sacasa if anyone wanted to read along with it.

I have 2 books from one of my new favorite Authors, Grady Hendrix. He wrote the book Horrorstor which I loved and was actually scared by... so I'm looking forward to reading We Sold Our Souls and My Best Friend's Exorcism. The covers of his books are the best. My Best Friends Exorcism is a VHS looking cover and We Sold Our Souls looks like a Rolling Stones Magazine. I don't want to read these 2 back to back... but they both sound really good.

I think those are actually it! I also have some X Files comics that I might want to read too because... I love The X Files! And I have Hidden Bodies which is the sequel to You that I want to read before I watch season 2... so I'll start those if I finish all of these before Halloween... but this might take me a while!

Bye!

Scribbles about TV: Jane The Virgin Review!

This I think is a surprise hit, so of corse I needed to watch it for myself to see! It's been getting a lot of critical buzz because it has been reviewed as "one of the best pilots of the season" and I also have been hearing a few critics saying that they don't think it will last because the word "virgin" is in the title... which is stupid. There is nothing wrong with being a virgin and if a show is good, its good and people should watch it... plus this did bring pretty high ratings for The CW so the critics that said that can suck it! Lol. Overall I really liked this show. One thing thats been bothering me a lot about the new Fall shows is that the characters aren't interesting enough. Especially the female characters. I thought that this showed a lot of really strong female characters that were interesting. This had a pretty big cast with A LOT of stuff going on for a pilot and most of the characters were female. That is a powerful thing to see on TV...

Top 10 Dating Tips/ Suggestions

So I've been in a relationship for about 2 and a half years... but before that I was single... for a very long time. And I was on dating apps for about a year or so before that... so here's what I learned from those apps. If you want more specific relationship advice I have from being in a relationship... that one might be a little harder but I guess I could do a blog on that too? Idk... I'm not an expert but I think I have some good tips.  Find an App That Works For You  I feel like not all apps work for everyone. I started on Bumble- and I like the app. I love the idea of girls taking the first move- but... I HATE making the first move apparently. So I would just match with a bunch of guys... and never really knew what to talk about. Plus I like having A LOT of info in my bio and Bumble just doesn't give enough space for me. I only went out with 1 guy from Bumble I think and it was bad.  So after that I tried Coffee Meets Bagel... which is terrible. Maybe depending on...

Some Pretty Funny Mini Stories That Happened Recently

Okay... so I feel like I have a few stories to tell... a lot of random funny things have happened this past week or so and I just feel like telling them... so yeah. Hope these are interesting. The Penny Pincher  This actually happened a while ago. And some backstory: My mom and I babysit my niece on weekdays and my niece is a toddler- who is pretty easygoing- and I don't really mind watching her on my own...but somedays it gets a little long and it's nice to have 2 people there. Anyway she had to go to the grocery store to get a tomato sauce... and we like a particular kind of tomato sauce... some woman actually took that tomato sauce out of her cart and put the generic version in her cart because "this woman knows tomato sauce and this stuff is the same." It really wasn't the same at all... the type I think had diced tomatoes and that isn't what we needed for the recipe or something like that. The tomatoes were different and it wouldn't have worked wi...
