Shannon Reads! What I've Read This Summer!

Comic Store Adventures

In the summer- a little after I took my Atlantic City Trip with my boyfriend, we started going to a lot of comic book shops and we had fun there... so I thought I'd share our adventures with you guys! The first one I was like "Ohhh- we need to go here" was of corse Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash in Red Bank. This is pretty famous because of Kevin Smith of corse and it was where Clerks was filmed... and both of us like Kevin Smith... although tbh I haven't seen many of his movies- I just kind of think he's a cool guy. Red Bank is of corse a really fun town- I've written about it before a long time ago. So we stopped in to eat first at Hansel and Griddles. I had never been here before, but it smelled really good and they had breakfast food and lunch food... and I was kind of in the mood for something like that. They have quesadilla wraps and smoothies. I Got a pork roll and cheese wrap which was great but it felt very heavy when I was walking around r

Spoopy Sunday 9/15/19: Horror News+ My Spooky Halloween Reading List

I've got some more Spoop for the week... plus all the books I want to read around halloween time.I think I'll shoot for reading all or most of these by Thanksgiving... and I'll get to that at the end!  First some Funko News. We have some New Haunted Mansion pops that were released for the 50th anniversary! It's more than just the pops too, there are little vinyl figures like their mystery minis... but they aren't really mysteries. They even have loungefly products... just about anything haunted mansion you want- they have right now... and it's sometimes sold out like the 10 inch Ezra I probably should have grabbed... but it's all good! I will probably do a Funko Friday on those pops on my Disney Blog so check that out right  here  if you like Disney. Didn't write it yet... but I think it'll be coming soon. Lol.  The Movie Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark is also going to have some Funko Pops coming soon. There are only 2 in the line The Scare

You by Caroline Kepnes Questions (from the back of the book)

These are the Discussion Questions that are listed in the back of the book and... I thought I'd answer them here! Spoilers! 1) "Discuss the Structure of You. What's the effect of hearing about Beck from Joe's point of view? As you get to know Joe better, do you trust his narration? Why or why not?"  Joe was too biased and idealized his relationship with Beck and Beck's feelings and interest in him. She uses her credit card to pay and Joe assumes its just because she wants him to know her name... when I'm pretty sure it was just because Beck had no cash. It's an interesting approach to see how he talks about beck... but we definitely learn more about Joe from the narration than we learn about Beck. 2) " Before Caroline Kepnes wrote You she worked as a writer on several television series, including The Secret Life of The American Teenager and Seventh Heaven. How do you think Kepnes's previous work influenced her writing? Did any scenes in

Funko Friday: Ron Swanson Pop

So- I've been wanting to do Funko Fridays... and I thought I would start with this Ron Swanson Pop cause he's kind of amazing. I will probably post some Disney Pops on my Disney Blog... but everything else will be on this one! I'm an out of the box collector... so I didn't keep the box of this one... but I almost did keep it just because the box was really, really cool! It is very, very Parks and Rec... it just looks like the show and it's just pretty cool. It really reminds me of Ron Swanson's office... which is super cool. There are a lot of other pops in this line... well 4 more not including the rarer more exclusive Andy Dwyer pops... I think this is the only pop I would really want from the line. I do love Leslie Knope and if I ever find it somewhere... but Idk this is an older line so I didn't think I'd ever get the Ron Swanson one- and I was really excited to find it at FYE. This is the only one I really want from the line... cause it&

Sunday Spoop: Horror News and Reviews 9/1/19 Halloween in Theme Parks, Ready or Not and Scary Stories to Tell In The Dark Reviews

This week I mostly have reviews... but I do have a few older Halloween related news stories... so I'll post that for the news section and I'll save my movie reviews for the end! First off- Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party opened in Walt Disney World and they have a new fireworks show that looks pretty fun! They have a puppet of Jack Skellington narrating the extravaganza and then a really cute Halloween Disney Short Projected onto the castle, which is really cool. It seems like a super cute and fun event. They are also offering a season pass if you're looking to go multiple nights of the parade- so that is really cool! Speaking of Halloween at the Theme Parks, Universal is also getting ready for their Halloween Horror Nights. They have some original houses this year- Depths of Fear (water themed), Graveyard Games (teens awaken some scary spirits), Nightingales Blood Pit (gladiator themed) and the Yeti themed Yeti Terror of The Yukon.... so those all sound excit
