So I am not really a DIY person...but I did do a few DIY's recently that I think really tie my room together... and I kind of like them... and although they are not complicated they aren't necessarily things that you see on a lot DIY projects... and I wanted to share these cause they're very easy and very me!
1. Apothecary Jar For Spring
So I think I've mentioned that I have an Apothecary Jar and in the winter I filled it with Ornaments and jingle bells and for the spring I decided to put some Fake Flowers in it! So I just got 3 bunches of flowers from Dollar Tree that I thought went well together and it looked like they'd match the color of my room. I have pink, a dark bluish purpley color and then a Lavender- which is the actual color of my room... and I just stuck those in the apothecary jar and kind of fluffed them out and arranged them as nicely as I thought I could... and I love it. I Love the green showing in the bottom and the pop of color on top that matches the wall... I think it's so cute!
2. Circular Doodle on a Notebook
This I kind of wanted to have as a place filler because I have a sort of "Gallery Wall" with some blank space on it... but I do think this little doodle looks pretty cool. I've always done these line doodles, sometimes I color them in, sometimes I don't... This time I decided to color in some parts with black and leave the white. I did this on ruled Notebook paper- which I think is kind of cool... I think notebook paper gives it kind of a unique look... plus it feels more writer-y to me and more genuine to the type of doodle it is. This is just a doodle I did on notebook paper when I was in school and I still try to do sometimes because people are usually kind of impressed by it... but it requires little to no artistic skill at all... and I like that!
3. Notebook Paper Quote
Again... I just like notebook paper artwork because to me it's genuine. I wrote down "Stay Weird, Stay Different" which is a line from the writer Graham Moore's Oscar Acceptance Speech. He won for The Imitation Game's Best Adapted Screenplay and I have that quote on a Necklace that my sister got me for college graduation... and I think it's very inspiring... and I don't even know who won for best picture that year... I just remember that particular speech! So yeah!
And that is everything! I hope you guys like this sort of post... if I do this type of thing again- which maybe I will- I'll post about it... but I just thought this was cool... and just kind of keep in mind your own personal style. I know Notebook Paper probably isn't for everyone- but I personally like it because I'm a writer and I do write on a notebook paper quite often! Don't be afraid to embrace little quirks like that!
