Scribbles About TV: Nobodies Review

TV Land has been coming up with more and more interesting original series. I haven’t seen Younger yet… but that looks interesting. From what I’ve seen of Throwing Shade, it is AMAZING… and most recently they have this show created by Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone.  Now this one is a little bit different… I like it a lot, but whereas something like Trial and Error I can say “If you love Arrested Development and Parks and Rec, you’ll love this!” Or with Imaginary Mary… which I don’t necessarily think I mentioned in the review… but I would compare it to Lizzie McGuire or Trophy Wife… and Elfman’s character is almost reminiscent of Dharma… so if you liked Dharma, then you might like this too.  Nobodies I would recommend if you are a writer, a filmmaker… or if you just liked things before they got popular. I don’t necessarily think everyone that loved Identity Theif of The Boss would love this… but if you like behind the scenes types of shows… you might like this. It re...

Throwback Thursday: Britney Spears Circus

So after years of not liking Britney Spears very much... I was like "You know... she isn't all that bad. Toxic is a good song. Circus is pretty good too... and I think she had some other good songs on that cd too." So... I was like "Ohhh I guess I should listen to Circus and see if I become a Britney fan." Spoilerz: I did! So this album is sexy. Like... really really sexy. There are some sweet songs on this cd too... there's one called " My Baby" that is about Brit's baby (babies?) I guess and that's a really sweet and loving song. This was released in 2009- after Britney's "meltdown" and custody battle... so that's kind of sad. I didn't realize then that this was after that. Wow what a great, powerful song! So this was kind of Brit's comeback cd... and WOW! What a comeback... maybe Blackout was technically the comeback... but I think this is probably more considered the comeback. And I feel like this is the ...

Scribbles About Music: One Hit Wonders: Good AND Bad

I've had Tubthumping by Chumbawamba stuck in my head... on and off the past couple of days... so let's explore some One Hit Wonders! Now... if you didn't know what a "One Hit Wonder" is... it's a band that had one song that you heard all the time... and then you never really heard from the singer or the band again. Some of my favorite songs are one hit wonders... and I literally do not know anything else from the bands... maybe they broke up shortly after or... something happened where they just weren't hits other than that one song you knew. So... I'm not really going to do a whole good or bad list... I'm just going to listen to some one hit wonder playlists and then rank it good or bad... but I'm obviously going to start with the one in my head right now. 1. Tubthumping by Chumbawamba- This is bad... it's the easiest song to get stuck in your head because the song basically repeats the same lyrics over and over again. There's a ...

Shannon Does Stuff: March- I Watch Movies!

So this is a thing I'm doing and I'm going to write about it! I'll do something every day for a month and then write about those things! This month I'm going to watch movies everyday... or almost every day! Amelie- Technically I watched this before the challenge started... so I'm not including it on Day 1 yet... it's a good movie. I couldn't watch it all at once... I didn't really have the attention span... it's hard to watch such a visually stunning movie and also pay attention to the subtitles too... it was a lot to take in... but I did really like it overall. I think I want to mostly watch movies I haven't seen yet... and I would like to watch some critically acclaimed movies... but I'll probably do some bad movies also because I might like Vampire Academy better than I liked Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind! Idk! I just wanted to see this movie and I like it a lot. Good characters and a lot of fun! Day 1: Zootopia- This is one t...

Chart Chat 4.3.17

I'm a little shocked by this chart chat... but it's an exciting week! I'm somewhat surprised at the number 1 movie... although I mentioned it before, thinking that it would definitely be the #1 kids movie of the week... anyway- let's get started! 10) The Zookeeper's Wife- This movie looks amazing! What an incredible true story as well! A Zookeeper hid family's from the Nazi's in his Zoo! That's amazing. It looks like it's quite beautiful as well... I guess this had a very limited release this week and that' why it's so low on the list... I'm still a little surprised that CHIPS beat it out... but I think in upcoming weeks this will probably get to #1 on the charts... or at least pretty darn close. As much as I want to see this movie... I really really want to read the book. I don't know if I'll read the book first or not... but I'll make sure to read it at some point because that's an incredible story! 9) CHIPS- Love Kr...

Weekly Wrap Up 4.2.17

Favorites  Homemade mini planner thing- This is kind of a weird favorite… but still a favorite nonetheless. I’ll probably go over how I made this little planner in a How To-sday sometime soon… but basically I just have a small little block every day for to do lists… keeping track of my instagram page, my blogs and other things I’d like to do. Plus I’m trying to keep track of what I buy and… it’s just come in handy quite a bit! I’ve been really digging it, I can fit it in just about any purse I have and take it on the go to write in it. It’s really been useful to keep myself organzied. It’s pretty nifty!  Nobodies- This is a great new show that I’ll have a post on in the near future… I don’t think I liked it as much as something like Trial and Error… which is still my favorite on right now… but it is better than something like Powerless or even Superstore… I like those shows a lot too… but this is just really funny. Kind of a dry humor… this one is a lot like Arrested ...
